iAIM - integrated asset information
management Oct 2015 to Dec 2016
Hitherwood was an expert adviser to this Innovate UK feasibility
study led by National Energy Foundation. The project explored how
the information management principles from PAS 1192-3:2013 could
be applied within a social housing provider (Joseph Rowntree
Housing Trust).
BSRIA's Life-Cycle Costing Guide
May 2015 to March 2016
Hitherwood was delighted to be asked to help update this
introductory guide to life-cycle costing for clients, contractors
and design consultants. This guide is available from the BSRIA
bookshop.
BSI BIM Masterclasses Apr
2015 onwards
David Churcher has been delivering BIM Level 2 Masterclasses for
BSI, particularly focusing on the requirements and processes set
out in PAS 1192-2 (BIM for project delivery) and PAS 1192-3 (BIM
for asset management).
ISO standard for BIM Level 2 Feb
2014 onwards
David Churcher was invited to join the UK Expert Panel as part of
the development of ISO 19650, based on the UK's existing BIM Level
2 standards. David has led the effort to write Part 1 of the
standard, setting out the concepts and principles for Level 2
information management.
Knowledge capture and dissemination Oct 2013 to May 2014
Hitherwood Consulting worked with a team from the Sustainable
Development Foundation to deliver this project for the Green
Construction Board's Knowledge and Skills Working Group. The
project identified and assessed collected data sets relating to
sustainable construction, and generated recommendations for how
behaviour change might be improved.
PAS 1192-3:2014 Jul 2013 to Feb 2014
Hitherwood Consulting was lead technical author for this new PAS,
which describes the requirements for BIM Level 2 in connection
with operating and maintaining built assets. This work was carried
out as a sub-contractor to BSRIA, on behalf of CIC and BSI.
BIM Execution Plan templates Feb to Apr
2013
Hitherwood worked alongside MR1 Consulting to prepare two
templates for BIM Execution Plans (BEPs). These are requirements
of the new PAS 1192-2:2013. These BEP templates can be downloaded
from the CPIC web-site -
look under CPIx On line.
PAS 1192-2:2013 Jan 2012 to Jan
2013
Hitherwood Consulting was one of two technical authors working on
this new Publicly Available Specification for building information
modelling. The PAS describes the requirements of BIM Level 2, as
required by the UK Government for all its projects from 2016
onwards. David Churcher at Hitherwood worked alongside Mervyn
Richards of MR1 Consulting to prepare this important reference
document. The PAS can be downloaded for free from the BSI website.
TSB application assessment July 2009
onwards
David Churcher of Hitherwood Consulting is engaged from time to
time by the Technology Strategy Board to act as an independent
assessor of funding applications. These applications may be for
collaborative research and development projects, or may be for
single-company projects.
Alignment of construction industry
plans of work May to Dec 2011
Hitherwood Consulting was commissioned by CPIC (the Construction
Project Information Committee) to analyse the plans of work
commonly used to divide building and infrastructure projects into
stages. The extent to which design activity was aligned across the
various plans of work was summarised and published on the CPIC
website.
